32 - Departure from Academic Integrity Cases - Do Not Proceed / Dismissed
|Description||Records may consist of all evidence gathered of a possible departure from academic integrity, the official notice to the student, notes of meetings between the student and the instructor.|
|Retention Trigger||Case does not proceed or is dismissed.|
|Total Retention||Immediately perform final action and disposition plan (if available).|
|Disposition Plan||Instructors must complete and submit to the AI administrator the “Notice of Dismissal of Alleged Departure from Academic Integrity” prior to destroying the case file.|
Academic Integrity Procedures 3.1.4 Dismissal of Investigation
If, after a careful review of the evidence collected during the initial collection of evidence, the instructor determines that there is insufficient evidence to continue with the investigation of a possible departure from academic integrity, the case will be dismissed. All documents related to the case must be destroyed and the student shall not be informed of the instructor’s investigation.
Academic Integrity Procedures 3.3.1 Dismissal
The Dismissal form shall be forwarded to the Faculty/School AI Administrator to be maintained for reporting purposes only. The student shall not be identified on the form. All other documents related to the case must be destroyed.
This schedule applies to official records in all media. Convenience or duplicate copies of official records are considered transitory and should not be kept longer than necessary, and in no event longer than the official copy.
