OPRNon-Academic Misconduct Intake Office (NAMIO)
DescriptionRecords consist of case files of non-academic misconduct (other than sexual assault and sexual harassment) by a student or group of students reported to NAMIO. Include incident reports, referral forms, case reports, decisions, informal resolution agreements, final reports (if applicable), case records database and communications to students.
Retention TriggerThe end of the academic year in which a case is closed.

Disposition PlanIf there is no finding of non-academic misconduct, keep the files for one year after retention trigger, then destroy. If there is a finding of non-academic misconduct, keep the files for seven years after retention trigger, then destroy. In some cases, records may be kept longer at the discretion of case managers.
Retention Rationale

Appendix B: 3a - the Student Conduct Office will maintain all Case Records and related documentation for a minimum period of 7 years following the date of decision in the case. Specific Case Records may be retained for a longer period.
